Well it came as no suprise to hear that King Arthur: Legend of the Sword tanked heavily at the box office. Directed by Guy Richie this fantasy adventure brought in a miserable $14.3 million in the states. Not even 10% of the $175 million budget recouped just yet and may not be for quite some time.
Costly reshoots and marketing included in that $175m. Marketing is a strange one, because I don’t feel it’s been promoted very well at all. Almost a back-burner hidden behind better movies. When you’re up against Guardians of the Galaxy 2 then naturally you’ll always come second best but it didn’t help that critics also hated the movie.
