Zombeavers Review

Its time to chase some beaver !

A group of college kids staying at a riverside cabin are menaced by a swarm of deadly zombie beavers. A weekend of sex and debauchery soon turns gruesome as the beavers close in on the kids. Riding the line between scary, sexy and funny, the kids are soon fighting for their lives in a desperate attempt to fend off the hoard of beavers that attack them in and around their cabin.

Zombeavers the movie who’s trailer amassed over a million views and went Sharknado viral, there is something about idiotic comedy horror films that is really striking a chord with the general public. Whether its the puns, the humour, the sheer crazyness of the idea, whatever the case may be Zombeavers has the words cult classic written all over it.

The film opens up to a collection of cliches, who would expect anything less from a film called Zombeavers, a T&A comedy with some gore along the way. Acting is few and far between but films like these are never showered in praise in terms of the casts ability to act. Whether its a whirlwind shark, a killer mermaid or a zombie beaver no one actually cares about the actors as with films like this its always the crazy creatures the audience roots for.

The beavers themselves are practical effects as opposed to CGI and I personally think this is a great choice, they don’t look realistic what so ever but that’s the whole fun of the movie, it doesn’t take itself too seriously so why should the beavers look any different. The fact that the cast are running around being chased by these little guys is hilarious. Its so fun, frantic and entertaining, there is never a dull moment, the one liners and crude references to the alternative meaning of the word ‘beaver’ do wear a little thin but its all good fun!

There are some moments of American Pie genius in there which is beautiful to see, most notably the sex scene. That scene in itself had me crying my eyes out as the guys are giving a running commentary whilst having sex, its hilarious.

The fun the filmmakers must of had on set really does reflect in the final cut of the film, a wonderful effort and a perfect film to sit down, dis-engage the brain and enjoy with a couple of friends.

A fun filled beaver fest that will not disappoint. I’m glad I chased that beaver !
